For those of you who don’t know me, let me take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Lisa Post, I have lived in the Town of Orangeville for the past 20 odd years.
I am 35 years old and have been married for almost 17 years to a great man, Mike. Mike and I have 2 awesome kids…my son Braedon is 15 and my daughter Charley is 9 and they are a riot. My fulltime job is as a Retail Store Manager and in my spare time I love photography, I love to cook, I am a netflix JUNKIE, and I love to take on any new challenge that is thrown at me!
That’s me in a nutshell.
2014 Town of Orangeville Elections & Change
2014 was a year that brought many interesting new challenges for me….I had some personal wins, knocked a few things off my bucket list, and most recently I took a giant leap and ran for Town Council. That challenge alone taught me so much about myself, my town, what is important to me, and what I believe is right for this town! This was my first time running for office (and it will not be my last). I was not successful in my campaign for a seat on council this time around…but I am so proud of everything that I accomplished along the way. And look out for me in 2018!
One of the things that I learned most along the campaign trail, is that I love Orangeville and the people in it and at the end of the day, win or lose, I want to see the best things happen for this town. Right after the election results came in, I had committed to being involved. I am going to be on some committees, attend council meetings and stay “in-the-know” as to what is happening in and around town.
So, with the help of some awesome friends and of course my love for a new adventure, we decided to take my community involvement one step further…
Town of Orangeville Watchdog
‘In My Humble Opinions’ came to life so that I can be somewhat of an Orangeville Watchdog…I will attend council meetings and then I will write about them. You will always know how I would have voted if I were in a council seat! I will attend the budget deliberations and let you know my thoughts on that as well! (For those of you who didn’t follow the election, my platform was based around #SpendLessDoMore – basically responsible budgeting for the town…so I am really looking forward to those budget meetings!)
But, for those of you who don’t want to hear about local politics, ‘In My Humble Opinions’ will have something for you too!! I will be all around town…checking out restaurants, shops, bands, theatre shows, and writing about my experiences!! I will give you my opinions on pretty much anything. Brutally honest. No BS.
So, I’m ready for all of your ideas…feel free to let me know what you want my opinions on? Restaurant owners looking for a review?? Store owners want me to pop by?? Get ready, I’m on my way.
